Jair Bolsonaro’s defense again asked for house arrest for the former president, who is sentenced to more than 27 years for an attempted coup d’état. His lawyers claim that this is a necessary measure to ensure minimum conditions of adequate medical treatment due to the former president’s health condition.
The defense also argues that it is necessary to avoid an undue increase in clinical risks, thus, according to them, allowing permanent monitoring by family members and health professionals, continuous clinical monitoring and immediate access to hospital care in the event of an emergency.
Bolsonaro has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) since last Friday (13), treating bilateral bacterial bronchopneumonia of probable aspiration origin.
