The U.S. Navy has selected Anduril Industries, a military technology company, to participate in its large autonomous submarine development program.

This project is being promoted by the U.S. Department of Defense. CAMP As part of the program, it aims to accelerate the development of a very large autonomous underwater unmanned system (XL-AUV) to expand its ability to perform long-range underwater missions.

According to the contract, Anduril will be released within a maximum of 4 months after signing the contract. Dive-XL Long-term demonstrations of autonomous underwater vehicles should be performed. This test is intended to evaluate system performance under conditions close to the actual operational environment, and focuses on measuring range, durability, and operational radius.

The selection was made through a competitive process led by the Defense Innovation Unit. According to the company, its autonomous underwater platform already has an operating range of more than 42,000 kilometers and a mission history of more than 6,700 hours, data that demonstrates the system’s reliability and long-term operational capabilities.

Anduril also highlighted his experience with the Ghost Shark program in collaboration with the Royal Australian Navy. Currently, Dive-XL is being produced in Sydney, Australia, and preparations are underway at the Quan Set Point facility in Rhode Island, USA to produce dozens of platforms and hundreds of small unmanned systems every year.
