The Chamber of Deputies is expected to vote this Tuesday (17) to update the revenue limit for Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI). The president of the House, Hugo Motta, stated that he made the urgent request to approve the measure.
The Complementary Bill envisages amending Complementary Law No. 123 of 2006 to increase gross revenue from R$81 thousand to R$103 thousand per year.
The text also modifies the rules for hiring employees. Currently, MEI can hire only one employer. With the change, he will be able to hire up to two employees, as long as they receive a minimum wage or the minimum wage for the category.
