Thousands of Iranians are on the streets of Tehran and other Iranian cities this Friday to celebrate Quds Day, a date marked by pro-Palestinian protests and to express opposition to Israel and Zionism. (Read more below) There was still no confirmation, until the last update of this report, whether the explosion was caused by Israeli bombing. Tehran has been the target of daily bombings announced by Israel since the start of the war, which entered its 14th day this Friday (13). The US has also carried out daily bombings of Iranian territory. Israeli bombings of the Iranian capital have been a daily occurrence in the war. “The IDF has just begun a wave of large-scale attacks targeting Iranian terrorist regime infrastructure across Tehran,” the army said in a statement. Before the bombings, the Israeli Army announced evacuation orders for some neighborhoods in Tehran. It is not known, however, whether the orders reached the Iranians due to a general, but intermittent, blackout on the country’s internet imposed by the Iranian regime since January. According to the Israeli Army, the objectives of this Friday’s attacks: Tehran: A central air defense system base and several production sites for weapons, air defense systems and ballistic missile components; Shiraz: An underground facility for the storage and production of ballistic missiles; Ahvaz: Iranian Revolutionary Guard command centers and a central command center for the Internal Security Forces.
