Itamaraty revokes visa of Trump administration advisor who asked to visit Bolsonaro in jail

by Marcelo Moreira

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) revoked the visa granted to Darren Beattie, advisor to US President Donald Trump on issues related to Brazil, who intended to visit the country next week.

Beattie had a trip scheduled to Brazil and planned, during the visit, to meet former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in Papudinha, where he is being held.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), responsible for authorizing this type of request, denied the request presented by the defense.
