“I would not give a life insurance policy to any of the leaders of the terrorist organization”, said this Thursday (12) the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, when making a veiled threat against the new supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei. The statement was made at a press conference while the prime minister commented on what measures Israel could take against Tehran’s new leadership.
At the same press conference, Netanyahu stated that Iran “is no longer the same” after the attacks carried out by Israeli and American forces. According to the prime minister, these attacks targeted important structures of the regime, including units of the Revolutionary Guard, and members linked to the Iranian nuclear program.
Netanyahu also confirmed that the Israeli and American attacks carried out on February 28 killed scientists considered strategic for Iran’s nuclear development.
The Israeli prime minister called Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei a “puppet of the Revolutionary Guards” and said he “cannot show his face in public.” Mojtaba was chosen as supreme leader this weekend and replaced his father, Ali Khamenei, eliminated at the start of the war during attacks by the United States and Israel.
Netanyahu also spoke about the terrorist group Hezbollah, noting that Israel will continue to attack the organization, which is supported by Tehran, and has carried out several offensives against northern Israel in the ongoing conflict.
The prime minister also said again that the military offensive could pave the way for internal changes in Iran, but stated that the fall of the regime depends on the population. “In the end, it depends on you. It’s in the hands of the Iranian people,” he said, referring to the population of Iran, which has held strong protests against the Islamic dictatorship in recent months.
