This Wednesday (11), after Israel announced new attacks on Lebanon, bombs were thrown in Beirut, in the Lebanese capital. According to the Israeli army, this action is a response to missiles launched by Hezbollah.
As Israel Defense Forces reported that they carried out attacks against structures linked to the Hezbollah in the suburb of Yeslocated in the southern region of Beirut. According to Israel, the area is considered one of the main strongholds of the armed group supported by the Iran.
Before the start of the operation, the Israeli forces’ Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraeepublished a notice on social media aimed at residents of the region. He classified the statement as an “urgent and serious warning”.
In the message, Adraee advised the population living in the southern suburbs of Beirut to leave the area immediately, citing the carrying out of a major military offensive against Hezbollah.
LEBANON PROPOSED NEGOTIATION WITH ISRAEL
The president of Lebanon, Joseph Aoundefended the opening of direct negotiations with Israel as a way to end the conflict involving the Hezbollaha Lebanese armed group supported and financed by Iran.
The proposal was presented during a meeting with authorities from European Union held on Monday (9). On the occasion, Aoun detailed a plan made up of four stages with the aim of reducing hostilities and seeking a solution to the crisis.
During the meeting, the Lebanese president also criticized Hezbollah harsher than usual, stating that the group’s actions have contributed to dragging the country into the broader conflict in the Middle East.
