The controversy arose after Bubblemaps, a blockchain market analysis company, stated on the social network six accounts made a profit of US$1.2 million (around R$6.3 million) with bets on Polymarket made in the hours before the attacks. Competitor Kalshi also maintained a market on the hypothesis of “Khamenei out of power”.
