Moraes’ wife denies having received a message from Daniel Vorcaro

by Marcelo Moreira

Lawyer Viviane Barci de Moraes, wife of Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes, spoke about the investigations conducted by the Federal Police, which involve messages considered suspicious intercepted during investigations, in addition to a high-value contract signed with former banker Daniel Vorcaro.

In a note, Viviane’s law firm detailed the services provided to Banco Master. The agreement, valued at around R$129 million, began in February 2024 and ended in November of the same year, after the liquidation of the financial institution.

According to the statement, the work was carried out by a team made up of 15 lawyers, in addition to the participation of three partner offices, working in the areas of compliance and legal consultancy for the bank.

The office reported that, over almost two years of operation, 94 work meetings were held, most of them in person, in addition to the preparation of 36 legal opinions. Among the documents produced are money laundering prevention manuals and codes of ethics.

The note also highlights that the office did not represent Banco Master in any proceedings before the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Viviane de Moraes also stated that she did not receive messages from the bank owner, Daniel Vorcaro, sent through single-view photos before the businessman’s arrest. In one of the records in the custody of the CPI, a note attributed to Vorcaro appears with the question: “Any news? Were you able to get news or block it?” The material is stored in a folder that contains Viviane’s contact information.
