School activities return this Monday (9) in the cities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá, located in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais. The return takes place both in the municipal education network and on the campus of the State University of Minas Gerais.
In Juiz de Fora, around 22,500 pre-school and elementary school students return to class. In addition, more than 5,800 babies and children are once again cared for in the city’s daycare centers.
Some schools will also undergo inspections to check the access conditions and safety of the structures. The units that were used as temporary shelters during the rainy season will gradually resume operation throughout the week.
In Ubá, the campus of the State University of Minas Gerais was affected by heavy rains. There was damage to laboratories, loss of equipment and damage to the library collection.
Even in the face of the damage recorded, the state government decided to maintain the calendar and continue academic activities at the institution.
