Prepare the popcorn and come watch “Esquenta do Oscar”. The program, presented by Thalyta Almeida and produced by Raquel Hosinho, features interviews with actors, producers, directors and other professionals who work behind the scenes of major world cinema productions.
The attraction shows behind the scenes of the campaign leading up to winning the statuette, as well as interesting facts about productions from different countries and Brazil’s participation in the dispute. This year, the country achieved a record number of nominations at the 98th edition of the Academy Awards, with Brazilians competing in five categories.
Among the highlights is the film “The Secret Agent”, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, nominated in four categories: Best International Film, Best Actor for Wagner Moura, Best Film and Best Cast. The fifth Brazilian nomination comes from cinematographer Adolpho Veloso, nominated for Best Cinematography for the American production “Sonhos de Trem”.
