The Brazilian government adopted emergency measures to avoid impacts on exports of animal products following the worsening of the conflict in the Middle East.
The Ministry of Agriculture authorized the temporary relaxation of sanitary and logistical rules for cargo that was already ready for export, but was prevented from traveling to its original destinations due to the interruption of commercial routes.
According to the government, part of the certified shipments was retained in slaughterhouses and port areas, which could create an accumulation of products and pressure on the inspection system.
Among the measures are the extension of the validity period of health certificates, the possibility of returning cargo to slaughterhouses without new certification and temporary storage in containers.
The redirection of cargo to new international markets was also authorized, as long as sanitary requirements are maintained.
The ministry informed that the measures are temporary and can be revised according to the evolution of the global logistics scenario.
