The United States says it destroyed several Iranian mobile missile launchers that were disguised as trucks, in an effort to make them harder to identify on the battlefield.
And video spread by United States Central Command (CENTCOM) shows the moment these platforms are spotted and hit by precision weapons.
According to the US military, Iran used this method to hide launchers while carrying out attacks against countries in the region. Despite the attempted camouflage, surveillance and monitoring systems managed to track the vehicles and guide attacks that neutralized the threats.
The operations are part of a broader campaign to reduce Iran’s ability to launch missiles and drones. According to Washington, the offensive is gradually being extended to deeper areas of Iranian airspace, while Israeli Air Force aircraft are also participating in the destruction of ballistic missile launchers.
American authorities say that, in just four days of operations, the strikes reduced Iran’s drone launches by 73% and ballistic missile launches by 86%. At the start of the fighting on February 28, around 350 missiles were fired at Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar — a number that progressively decreased in the following days after attacks on the launch pads.
