Ministers Alexandre de Moraes, Flávio Dino and Cristiano Zanin, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), voted this Thursday (5) to keep former president Jair Bolsonaro detained in “Papudinha”, in Brasília. Now, all that’s missing is Minister Cármen Lúcia’s vote. With the three votes in favor of maintaining the prison, the Supreme Court formed a majority.
The former president’s defense argued that given his delicate health and several serious illnesses, Bolsonaro should serve his sentence at home.
Case rapporteur, Moraes pointed out that the PF’s medical expertise concluded that, so far, there is no need for transfer to hospital care, even recognizing that it has a “highly complex clinical condition”.
The minister highlighted that the specific conditions and adaptations of the prison unit fully meet the needs of the convict, with the possibility and effective implementation.
