The United Kingdom has confirmed that F-35B Lightning fighters shot down hostile drones during missions in the Middle East, marking the first time the aircraft has destroyed a target in real combat in British service.
The interceptions occurred while the planes were operating from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, carrying out patrols over Jordan.
