Since the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the relationship between the United States and Cuba has been one of rivalry, and the Island has lived with an economic embargo for decades. In recent weeks, however, Cubans have been experiencing something unprecedented: living under severe oil shortages, which are affecting the distribution of food and medicine, paralyzing public transport and causing daily blackouts.
