The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, known as Itamaraty, released this Saturday (28) a list of countries to which Brazilians should avoid traveling. In addition to Iran, attacked by the USA and Israel – which participated in the military action – Brazil recommends not visiting several neighboring countries.
The note also gives instructions to Brazilians who are in conflict areas. Itamaraty advises on where to keep someone surprised by attacks on the street, where to stay at home during bombings and even gives tips on how to store water in case of a supply interruption.
The note ends with the telephone number of various representations abroad, for life-threatening situations.

In light of the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends against traveling to:
• Iran
• Israel
• Qatar
• Kuwait
• United Arab Emirates
• Bahrain
• Jordan
• Iraq
• Lebanon
• Palestine
• Syria
For those already in these countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends the following precautions be taken:
During attacks or bombings
Go to the nearest shelter immediately. If you are on the street, look for subway stations, overpasses or underground parking lots.
If you’re at home, prioritize rooms with at least two walls between you and the building’s exterior wall, such as ground floor rooms, basement stairs, interior hallways, and areas without windows. Keep corridor doors closed and, if there are windows, keep them closed.
When seeking shelter, observe the following principles:
• Avoid remaining in line of sight with the sky;
• The further inside the structure, the better;
• Ensure at least two walls between you and the areas most at risk of splinters;
• Seek shelter before using messaging apps or making phone calls.
Additionally, fill the bathtub or large containers with cold water, in order to have a reserve in case of any shortage.
General Security Recommendations
• Monitor the websites and social media of Brazilian embassies in the region and follow their guidelines;
• Strictly follow the safety recommendations of local authorities;
• Avoid crowds and protests;
• Monitor local media;
• Do not leave your place of residence without making sure that safety conditions allow it;
• If your flight has been cancelled, contact the airline to rebook your tickets;
• Check that your travel documents are up to date and valid for at least six (6) months.

Emergency situations are those situations that require immediate action by the consular agent, that is, that involve a risk to the life, safety or human dignity of Brazilian citizens abroad.
