This Saturday, President Lula flies over the areas of Minas Gerais’ Zona da Mata affected by intense rains in recent days.
At around four o’clock in the afternoon, he should meet with mayors of the most affected municipalities: Margarida Salomão, from Juiz de Fora; José Damato, from Ubá; and Maurício dos Reis, by Matias Barbosa. The meeting will be at the city hall of Juiz de Fora.
To date, the federal government has approved resources worth 11.3 million reais to help the three most affected cities. These resources are aimed at both humanitarian assistance and the restoration of essential services.
According to the latest report from the Minas Gerais Fire Department, released this Saturday morning, 65 people died in Juiz de Fora and Ubá, and there are four missing, in addition to thousands of homeless people.
