Trump confirms attacks on Iran and says the objective is to ‘defend the American people’ from ‘threats from the Iranian government’

Trump warned that as a result of the US military operation, “We may have casualties.” According to the NYT, General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had warned Trump in private meetings that American troops could be killed or injured in a war with Iran.
