The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) sent a statement this Monday morning (23) to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) so that the fake news investigation can be closed at the Supreme Court.
The OAB says it expresses “extreme institutional concern about the legal permanence of long-term investigations”. The case has already been pending in the STF for almost seven years.
The protocol also reinforces a request for new procedures similar to fake news to be introduced. The discussion returns to the agenda after the Federal Supreme Court investigated the leakage of data on ministers and family members by employees of the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro).
