Sweden has announced its 21st military aid package to Ukraine, with a total investment of around 1.4 billion dollars.

According to the Swedish Ministry of Defence, the funds will have the main focus on strengthening the air defense and further developing Ukraine’s offensive capabilities in the midst of the ongoing conflict.

One of the main investments in the package is the expansion of a joint project for the production of Ukrainian long-range drones, which will receive about 618 million dollars. In addition, the plan includes financing of two programs aimed at the delivery of unmanned surface vessels, which will strengthen Ukraine’s capability for maritime operations.

Another significant share, estimated at $330.4 million, will be spent on the procurement of grenade launchers, long-range artillery ammunition, 120mm mines and spare parts. The package also includes the purchase of 40 mm projectiles for air defense systems, which strengthens protection against threats from the air.

In cooperation with Denmark, Sweden will also participate in a joint purchase of Tridon Mk2 air defense systems, with an investment of around 266 million dollars. The distribution of funds between the two countries will make it possible to fully equip an entire air defense division, thereby increasing Ukraine’s defensive capacity.
