Drone “hunts” Russian Tornado-S-system under bombardment of Zaporizhzhya – explosion caught on video
A Russian multi-barrel rocket artillery system was destroyed the moment it carried out a bombardment of the Zaporizhzhya region. The operation was carried out by the 1st Center of the Forces of Ukraine for unmanned systems, which managed to locate and neutralize the target with high precision.
The commander of the forces of unmanned systems, Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign «Hungarian», the devastation announced on its official Telegram channel. According to him, the attack took place on February 21, 2026, while the system fired missiles at the region.

The drone followed the launches in real time
According to the published information, the attack drone recorded the rocket launches during the bombardment. Based on the captured trajectories, it was possible to calculate the exact position of the Russian launcher immediately.
The identified equipment was a modernized version of the Soviet Smerch system — known as Tornado-S. It is a digitized system with significant improvements in precision, steering and range.
As soon as the position was confirmed, the drone directly attacked the launch rails. The impact caused an immediate fire on the platform, followed by detonations of the ammunition the vehicle was carrying.

Tornado-S: long-range weapon
Tornado-S is considered a further development of the older Smerch system. The developers have integrated digital systems and satellite-guided ammunition, which increases the operational range to up to 120 kilometers.
This type of system is used for saturation attacks and long-range bombardments. According to the Ukrainian authorities, it had been actively used against areas in and around Zaporizhzhya.
Fourth unit destroyed
