The drone “hunts” the Russian system Tornado-S during shelling Zaporozhye — explosion captured on video
The Russian multiple launch missile system was destroyed at the exact moment it was firing at the Zaporozhye region. The operation was carried out by the 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine, which managed to locate and neutralize the target with high precision.
Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Browdi, known by the call sign “Hungarian“, reported the destruction on its official Telegram channel. According to it, the attack took place on February 21, 2026, when the system fired missiles towards the region.

The drone tracked the launches in real time
Published information shows that the combat drone recorded the trajectories of the missiles during the ongoing shelling. Based on the captured flight paths, it was possible to immediately calculate the exact position of the Russian launcher.
The equipment identified was a modernized version of the Soviet Smerch system – known as Tornado-S. It is a digitized system with significantly improved precision, guidance system and increased range.
After confirming the position, the drone directly hit the launch guides. The hit caused an immediate fire to the platform, followed by detonation of the ammunition carried by the vehicle.

Tornado-S: Long-range weapon
Tornado-S is considered a development of the older Smerch system. Its creators integrated digital systems and ammunition guided by satellite navigation, increasing the operational range to 120 kilometers.
These types of systems are used for saturation attacks and long-range fire. According to Ukrainian authorities, they were actively used against areas of Zaporozhye and surrounding areas.
Fourth unit destroyed
This is the fourth installation of this type neutralized since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The first confirmed loss was recorded in the fall of 2022 in the Kharkiv Oblast. The second one was destroyed the following year, and the recording was published in September 2023.
