MG surpasses historic milestone of one million cars sold in Europe

MG Motor has confirmed the delivery of its millionth vehicle to a European customer, cementing the brand as one of the fastest growing on the continent over the last decade.

Since its return to the UK market in 2011 with the launch of the MG6the manufacturer has expanded its presence to 34 European markets, supported by more than 1,300 dealer partners.

In 2025, the company recorded 300,000 units sold in Europe — a growth of 30% compared to 2024. The United Kingdom remains the brand’s main market, totaling 386,000 units sold since its relaunch.

Growth driven by electric and hybrid models

A key driver of MG’s expansion has been its offering of accessible electric and hybrid vehicles, with a strong focus on technology. To date, the manufacturer has delivered 317,000 100% electric vehicles in Europe. The MG4 EV model, widely recognized in its segment, has established itself as one of the pillars of this strategy and has recently benefited from the 2026 versions as well as the new MG4 EV Urban.

MG Motor is of British origin and was officially founded in 1924. The acronym MG stands for Morris Garagesname of the concession located in Oxford and belonging to William Morris. It was in this context that Cecil Kimber, then director of the company, began to develop sportier versions of Morris models, giving birth to a brand which quickly established itself thanks to the production of light, accessible cars focused on driving pleasure.
