Roseli Vanda Pires Albuquerque, 47 years old, was killed in the early hours of Saturday (21) inside her own home. The body of Roseli’s ex-partner, Ari Albuquerque, who committed the crime, was also found at the scene. According to the press office of Nova Prata (RS), the municipality in which the victim served as a councilor, femicide followed by suicide was confirmed.
According to the Civil Police, the crime occurred around 3:30 am, in the center of Nova Prata (RS). According to preliminary information, there were no recent records of urgent protective measures. The ex-partner no longer lived in the property, but still had the key to the apartment, where he previously lived with the victim and the couple’s son.
Moments before the crime, Roseli sent a message to her mother, who called the Military Brigade. When they arrived at the scene, the teams found the deaths. The apartment remains isolated for forensic work.
The perpetrator of the crime acted as a rescuer for the municipality’s SAMU. Roseli was administrative director of the State Department of Sport and Leisure and had run for the position of vice-mayor of Nova Prata in 2024, for the PSD. The victim leaves behind a 26-year-old son.
