Leigh-Anne Pinnock on Jesy Nelson, Little Mix Reunion

Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a genetic condition that causes certain muscles to become weak until they eventually waste away, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Categorized into five types, Type 1 affects about 60 percent of cases, with symptoms arising during infancy in the form of breathing and swallowing difficulty.

“We were told that they’re probably never gonna be able to walk, they probably will never regain their neck strength so they will be disabled,” Jesy said in a Jan. 4 Instagram video. “And so the best thing we can do right now is to get them treatment and then just hope for the best.”

Though Leigh-Anne expressed her hopes to have a Little Mix reunion one day, telling Heart Breakfast that it would “one hundred percent” happen, Jesy could not say with certainty that she would be involved.

“I’d never say never to music,” she told Heart FM’s Breakfast Show during a separate interview on Feb. 12, per The Daily Mail. “But for me, my girls are my main focus. I’ll be honest with you, I’ve not got time, I really don’t.”

She added, “They are my whole heart and soul and my main focus, and I want to continue advocating for them and getting this heel prick test changed and getting them strong, that’s my main focus. Because that’s going to determine their future.”

Jesy isn’t the only celebrity who has previously discussed her mental health. Keep reading for more stars who have been candid about the topic.
