Moraes asks the Federal Police to summon the president of Unafisco

by Marcelo Moreira

The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) ordered the Federal Police (PF) to summon the president of the Union of National Tax Auditors (Unafisco), Kleber Cabral, to testify. He is the leader of the class entity of Tax Auditors of the Federal Revenue of Brazil.

The purpose of the statement is to gather clarifications from interviews given by Kleber in recent days, speaking criticizing the operation ordered by the STF against Revenue auditors who are accused of breaching the tax secrecy of some magistrates and their relatives.

Due to the secrecy of the case, it is not possible to know whether the request for clarification is related to the investigation or to Cabral’s statements to the press.

As determined by Moraes, the civil servants under investigation must comply with several precautionary measures, such as monitoring by electronic ankle bracelet, removal from public service, cancellation of passports and ban on leaving the country.

In a note released after the operation, the Federal Revenue Service clarified that the search operations carried out by the Federal Police were based on information provided by the agency itself.
