Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was received on Saturday by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during his official visit and thanked Pyongyang for the “support” in the conflict in Ukraine. The information was released by the Russian media.

In recent years, the two countries have strengthened military cooperation, and North Korea has provided weapons and troops to support the Russian offensive in Kursk. Moscow reports has allowed greater technology sharing in return.

Lavrov previously stated that North Korean authorities “reaffirmed his unrestricted support to all objectives.” The statements were made after a meeting with Foreign Minister Choe Son-Hui in the city of Wonsan, in the east of the country, where authorities opened a tourist area on the Japan Sea coast in late June.

Asked about the possibility of North Korean troops traveling to other parts of the front line, Lavrov replied that it is up to Pyongyang to decide.

“We start from the principle that the RPDC itself determines the ways as we implemented our strategic partnership agreement, he said, using the country’s official name.
