The planes Air Force One will receive President Donald Trump’s favorite livery, a US Air Force official revealed to CNN.
According to the media, the new Boeing 747 modified — referred to by the military as VC-25B — will be painted red, white, gold and dark blue, a color scheme proposed during Trump’s first term but canceled by the Biden administration.
The planes serving asAir Force One have sported a light blue and white livery since the Kennedy administration. In 2022, after Trump suggested changing the paint, the US Air Force rejected the change citing cost reasons and technical constraints.
“Additional analyzes concluded that darker colors — among other factors — on the bottom of the device VC-25B could contribute to temperatures exceeding current qualification limits for a small number of components,” a US Air Force spokesperson said at the time.
Now, the US Air Force has indicated that the new livery will be applied to two new Boeing 747 currently modified by Boeingas well as a third aircraft donated by Qatar to the armed forces, which Trump ordered to be adapted for use as Air Force One.
The new colors will also be applied during scheduled maintenance of four devices C-32a military version of Boeing 757currently in service with the fleet. One of these recently repainted planes was seen landing at Majors Airport in Greenville, Texas (United States).
