Zendaya has weaved a difficult web when it comes to dealing with fame.
Over a year after she and Spider-Man costar Tom Holland confirmed their engagement, the Euphoria actress acknowledged how she grapples with life in the spotlight.
“At the end of the day, you’re a public figure, there’s nothing you can do,” Zendaya explained in an Interview magazine conversation with The Drama costar Robert Pattinson“but some things are meant for yourself and for your loved ones.”
The 29-year-old admitted that her public persona can even be at odds with the characters she plays.
“I do try to have privacy, not just for characters, but for me in real life,” she continued. “I try to be honest to who I am when I am in public, but I also try to keep things for myself.”
This isn’t the first time Zendaya has shared her disaffected acceptance with life in the spotlight.
