Russia has placed about 100 fighter and attack aircraft, including newer models, in the storage area at the Lipetsk Air Base.

At the beginning of 2022, the storage area held 57 MiG-29 fighter, 25 MiG-31 interceptorer, to Su-24 bomber, three Su-25 jets and seven Su-27 fighter.
