Workers born in January who had an average income of up to R$2,766 with a formal contract in 2024 will begin receiving, this Monday (16), the salary bonus. The amount paid varies between R$136 and R$1,621, depending on the number of months worked in the base year of 2024, and the calendar will continue throughout 2026 in a staggered manner, depending on the workers’ month of birth.
Among those included in this start of payments, the majority, around 1.8 million people from the private sector registered in PIS, will receive the amounts for Caixa Econômica Federaltotaling approximately R$2.29 billion. For workers in the private sector, payment is made primarily by Caixa by credit to a current or savings account, or by deposit into Digital Social Savings using the Caixa Tem app. Those who do not have an account can withdraw with a Social Card and password at lottery outlets, ATMs or Caixa Aqui correspondents, in addition to being able to withdraw directly at branches with an official document or, in some cases, via registered biometrics. Public servants are paid by Banco do Brasil via credit to their account, transfer via TED or Pix, or withdrawal in person at branches for those who are not account holders or have a Pix key.
Consultations on values, dates and status of the benefit can be made using the Digital Work Card application, the Gov.br portal, telephone 158 of the Ministry of Labor, in addition to the Caixa Tem and Benefícios Sociais Caixa applications or through the Caixa ao Cidadão service. The forecast is that, throughout 2026, around 22.2 million workers will be covered by the payment of the salary bonus.
