Eduardo Bolsonaro says he is persecuted by the STF and sees Flávio’s election as the only alternative

by Marcelo Moreira

Former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, from the Liberal Party, stated this Saturday (14) that he is working for his brother, senator Flávio Bolsonaro, to run for President of the Republic. In an interview with the American broadcaster Fox News, Eduardo said that, if elected, Flávio will grant a pardon to him and his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro.

In “self-exile” in the United States and at risk of facing obstruction of justice if he returns to Brazil, Eduardo stated that he is the target of persecution by the Federal Supreme Court. According to him, the only alternative now is to elect his brother Flávio so that the pardon can be granted to both the former president and himself. Eduardo also cited the actions of the Attorney General’s Office and stated that he is accused of having held conversations with American authorities.

The former congressman’s actions in the United States, throughout 2025, occurred amid diplomatic tensions, including the imposition of tariffs on Brazilian products and the application of sanctions to STF ministers. Living outside the country since March last year, Eduardo is still betting on his brother’s election to return to Brazil.
