Pirelli will be the official new tire supplier for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America starting in the 2026 season.

The multi-year agreement marks the first time in the championship’s six-year history that the one-make series will use tires from an Italian manufacturer on track.

The partnership’s official debut will take place during a collective test session at Sebring International Raceway in February. On this occasion, the latest 992.2 generation Porsche 911 Cup will make its first public appearance on tires Pirelli.

P Zero DHG will be the official tire of the championship

Porsche Carrera Cup North America will use P Zero DHGa model that since 2025 is used in all Pirelli-supplied GT championships. This compound was developed with a focus on consistent performance, higher thermal stability and a wider performance window throughout the race.

In rainy conditions, this championship will use Cinturato WHB, the standard tire for wet conditions in GT competitions supplied by the brand since 2025.

Another highlight is the presence of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) label on the latest P Zero tires. This certification ensures that the natural rubber used comes from plantation areas managed to strict environmental standards, guaranteeing traceability and separation of material throughout the production chain.

Connection between track and road

This announcement comes not long after Pirelli confirmed the development of special versions of the P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS for the road-going Porsche 911 GT3, reinforcing its strategy of transferring technology from the racing world to the production model.

According to Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, this partnership opens a new phase for the championship. Meanwhile, Claudio Zanardo, President and CEO of Pirelli North America, emphasized that this deal expands the brand’s presence in high-level championships in North America.

The 2026 season will also mark the debut Porsche 911 Cup generation 992.2, an evolution of the model used in the German manufacturer’s one-make competition. The new car features improvements in handling, balance and aerodynamic efficiency.

The 992.2 model will compete in just four global championships in 2026: Porsche Carrera Cup North America, Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

The official season opener will take place March 18 to 20, back at Sebring, as part of the traditional Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring event that is part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

With the arrival of Pirelli and the new generation of the 911 Cup, the Porsche Carrera Cup North America enters a new technical and strategic phase, aligning performance, innovation and sustainability in one of the most competitive one-make championships on the continent.
