A single team from the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Regiment was able to neutralize three Shahed drones in low-altitude air defense operations on the same night.
The operation was carried out with the GRAY WIDOW-1i interceptor drone model, which is derived from the GRAY WIDOW 1 kamikaze drone model.
According to the manufacturer Nebesna Kara The GRAY WIDOW-1i combines versatility and performance and operates in a speed range between 90 km/h and 260 km/h. This range enables both long-duration patrol flights and rapid responses to identified air threats.
The duration of the mission varies depending on the mission type: it can be up to 40 minutes with active homing, reduced to 20 minutes in mixed mode, or limited to around seven minutes for intercept missions at maximum speed. The operational range is up to 30 km, the maximum altitude is 6,000 meters, and the drone can carry a 1.1 kg warhead.
The system continues to undergo combat testing with optical control and already has operational experience from previous versions used by Ukrainian special forces.
The regiment also recently attracted attention when one of its soldiers, known as “Miguel,” shot down 24 Shahed drones in just one night, setting a milestone in air defense.
