TCU analyzes request to suspend Marco Buzzi’s salary during leave

by Marcelo Moreira

The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) analyzes a request from the Public Ministry to suspend the remuneration of the minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Marco Buzzi, while he is away from the Court. The document is signed by Deputy Attorney General Lucas Rocha Furtado.

Buzzi is prevented, as a precautionary measure, from using the workplace, official vehicle and other prerogatives linked to the exercise of his role. The magistrates will meet again on March 10 to analyze the investigation committee’s conclusions. Even with the layoff, Buzzi receives a base salary of just over 44 thousand reais. Deputy Attorney General Lucas Rocha Furtado wrote that allowing the minister to continue receiving his full remuneration “is a true mockery of Brazilian society.”

Marco Buzzi was removed by the STJ last Tuesday (10) after being accused of two cases of sexual harassment. He denies the accusations.
