Documents reveal that Jeffrey Epstein has an active CPF in Brazil

by Marcelo Moreira

Documents recently released by the United States courts revealed that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has an active CPF in Brazil. In a folder called “miscellaneous files”, Epstein’s name appears associated with a Brazilian CPF that was issued in 2003 and is still active and regular with the Federal Revenue Service. Epstein, convicted of sex trafficking of minors and other crimes, reportedly considered obtaining citizenship.

Federal Revenue rules allow foreigners without residence in Brazil to request registration with the CPF. The request can be made by the person themselves or by an attorney. Any measure related to the registration of a deceased foreigner, as is the case of Epstein, depends on whether or not they have assets in the country, and must be requested by an executor, spouse, partner, relative or a death pension beneficiary.

The billionaire also spoke to a German businesswoman and investor via email about the possibility of obtaining Brazilian citizenship, but did not follow through with the plan, claiming that the visa could cause problems when traveling to other countries.
