The terrorist group Hamas condemned, on Friday (11), the United States sanctions against UN rapporteur to Palestine, Francesca Albanese, stating that the act is “a flagrant expression of US management prejudice regarding Zionist war crimes.”
“Punitive measures adopted by the United States against institutions and individuals who play their professional and moral role in the extermination war in the most recently Albano Gaza Strip, the foundations of international and humanitarian law undermine,” the terrorist group said in a statement.
Such sanctions, according to terrorists, “encourage” leaders in Israel to continue their “brutal crimes”, referring especially to Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip since the attacks on October 7, 2023.
Last Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio imposed sanctions on Albanese, whom he accuses of “blatant anti-Semitism” and making a “campaign” against Israel.
“Albanese’s political and economic campaign against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated. We will always support our partners in their right to self -defense,” Rubio said on social networks.
The Italian Francesca Albanese is the UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the occupied Palestinian territories and accused Israel of committing war crimes, including “Genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
Sanctions follow an executive order signed in February by US President Donald Trump to block goods and withdraw US visas from anyone who cooperates with the International Criminal Court (TPI) investigation over Israel.
