This Tuesday (10), the Italian Court denied the request presented by the defense of former deputy Carla Zambelli to replace the judges responsible for the case. The process deals with the possible extradition of the former PL deputy, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
A new hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday (11) and should specifically analyze the former parliamentarian’s extradition request. The progress of the case had already been postponed several times due to requests from the defense itself.
His lawyers still have 15 days to appeal the decision. Zambelli is accused of breaking into the systems of the National Justice Council (CNJ).
After her conviction, she left Brazil and took refuge in Italy, the country of which she has citizenship. She is currently detained in an Italian women’s penitentiary and participated in the court session virtually.
