Businessman Elon Musk, owner of X and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said this Tuesday (10) that financier Jeffrey Epstein turned some of his victims into accomplices to ensure their silence. The statement was made in a post on social media, amid the repercussions of the release by the Department of Justice of documents linked to the Epstein case in the United States.
According to Musk, many of the victims who suffered abuse when they were minors would have been coerced by Epstein, after turning 18, to participate in crimes related to the sexual exploitation network itself. According to him, by involving these people in illegal activities, the financier would have created a more effective coercion mechanism than formal confidentiality agreements.
“By making them commit crimes with him, Epstein guaranteed their silence more than any non-disclosure agreement could guarantee,” he wrote.
Still according to Musk, these circumstances would explain why some of the victims did not publicly denounce those involved over the years. The businessman defended that these people receive amnesty so that they can testify without risk of punishment.
“They should receive amnesty to be able to testify,” he stated in the same publication.
The statements were made after X users questioned why victims of the Epstein case do not publicly reveal the names of their attackers.
On Sunday (8), Musk had already spoken out on the issue by stating that he would pay for the legal defense of Epstein victims who were prosecuted for publicly denouncing their attackers.
