by Marcelo Moreira

The National Council of Justice received a new complaint of sexual harassment against the minister of the Superior Court of Justice, Marco Buzzi, this Monday (9).

The magistrate, minister Mauro Campbell Marques, heard statements from the new alleged victim and officially registered the complaint. Minister Marco Buzzi was the target of a serious accusation of sexual harassment against an 18-year-old girl, who spent the January holidays staying at the magistrate’s house, in Balneário Camboriú, in the state of Santa Catarina.

The girl is the daughter of a couple of friends of the minister. On January 9th, they would have met on a beach, and, at one point, the young woman went to take a swim in the sea. Buzzi was also in the water. According to reports from the young woman, who was in a state of despair, the minister tried to grab her.

The new victim, heard by the CNJ this Monday, would be a former employee of Buzzi’s office at the STJ. The National Justice Inspectorate informs that it continues to carry out investigations, and a new disciplinary complaint has been opened to investigate these new facts.

Such procedures are carried out under legal secrecy, an essential measure to preserve the privacy and integrity of the people involved and for the proper conduct of investigations.
