The fake content has an audio with the same phrase as the title, followed by an excerpt from the speech, which says:”Participating in this meeting, no problem […]. The President of the Republic does nothing, but opens the door for those who do business to do business. At that moment, the president was interrupted by an advisor and said: “There’s no problem with interpretation, you know? Where is the translation?” […]President Lula begins his speech in a conversational manner and is alerted that the official interpreter was not yet in position. After the warning, he begins to read the speech more slowly, to facilitate simultaneous translation.” Available on President Lula’s official YouTube channel, the full video shows that the first ten minutes of the speech — when Lula adopts the “colloquial” tone — have no translation from Portuguese to Spanish. This only happens after the advisor’s intervention, which took place between minutes 11:33 and 11:42. In total, the speech lasts 21 minutes and shows the PT member declaring support for Panama’s sovereignty over the Canal and defending the neutrality of the route for global trade.
