At 86 years old, Lang is the most prominent French name mentioned in the documents. He and his daughter will be investigated on suspicion of “money laundering resulting from aggravated tax fraud”, due to alleged financial links with Epstein. The former minister stated that he received the news of the investigation “with serenity”. He also said that the process will clarify the accusations that, according to him, cast doubt on his integrity and honor. The former minister declared that he had no knowledge of the crimes attributed to the financier. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Friday (6) that he had summoned Lang to a meeting this Sunday (8). According to him, “the first elements that emerge from these files are new and extremely serious” and will require in-depth analysis. The name of Caroline Lang, daughter of the former minister, also appears in the files of an offshore company linked to Epstein. A film producer, she resigned this week from her position as president of the Independent Production Union.
