The Federal Supreme Court (STF) scheduled the judgment of Minister Flávio Dino’s decision for February 25th, which suspended the payment of illegal payments in the Judiciary, Legislative and Executive branches.
The minister granted an injunction to determine that compensation funds without a legal basis must be suspended within 60 days.
The so-called penduricalhos are benefits granted to public servants that do not meet the constitutional salary ceiling of R$46,300, an amount equivalent to the salary of STF ministers. In the decision, Flávio Dino stated that there is a “phenomenon of anomalous multiplication” of compensation funds that are incompatible with the Constitution.
