On Monday, Starmer called on Mandelson to resign from the House of Lords — the unelected upper house of the British Parliament made up of politicians, donors and other public figures — to which he was appointed for life in 2008. This would also involve giving up the peerage, Lord Mandelson, which he received at the time.
