Starting today (2), workers across Brazil will begin receiving payment of the new minimum wage. The value is 1,621 reais, representing an adjustment of 6.79%, that is, an increase of 103 reais. Payment takes place by Friday (6), according to the final card number. Now, the minimum daily value will correspond to R$54.04, and the hourly value will correspond to R$7.37.
INSS retirees and pensioners began receiving the new minimum wage on the 26th. The new minimum wage will impact 61.9 million Brazilians, according to the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies. R$81.7 billion should be injected into the economy this year.
This new value influences benefits from the National Social Security Institute (INSS), payments of the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC/Loas), unemployment insurance (minimum installment) and the value of the social security contribution of individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEIs). The adjustment also affects compensation paid by Special Courts to those who win legal actions.
