The search for the four-year-old girl who was missing in Jeceaba, in the central region of Minas Gerais, ended with a happy ending. After more than 48 hours of mobilization, the child, identified as Alice, was found alive in the early afternoon of this Saturday (31), in a rural area of the municipality. The girl, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), had no apparent injuries and was taken for medical evaluation.
According to information from the Fire Department, Alice was located by volunteers who participated in the searches from the first day. At around 2pm, they found the child with some grass marks on her body and called the military, who carried out the rescue and took her to the hospital. The disappearance had been noticed on Thursday (29), around 2:30 pm, when the girl was at her grandparents’ farm, in the rural area of the city.
The searches mobilized residents of the community and neighboring cities, bringing together around 97 volunteers in the early hours. Over time, the operation began to be officially coordinated by the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department, with support from the Military Police, Civil Police and Civil Defense. Search dogs, drones with thermal cameras and a large number of military personnel were used, which contributed to the positive outcome of the incident.
