In a statement, they detailed how the Chinese military used a laser to reach a German aircraft flying through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea in support of the European Maritime Operation Aspides.

While more details of the incident were not disclosed, it is speculated that the aircraft in question was a P-3 Orion that was patrolling the area and warning about Houthis at sea and Iêmen’s cruise missile launches.

The source of the Chinese attack may have been a terrestrial installation at a Chinese logistics base in DJibuti, where incidents involving laser -injured US riders have already been recorded.
