The bloc has trade agreements with 76 countries. It also wants to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a free trade bloc with 12 members including Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Peru and Singapore. Other negotiations with Malaysia, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates are ongoing.
