A man attracted the attention of internet users after showing how a robot clears snow during a blizzard.

The device was shown off Tom Moloughneya New Jersey resident who runs a popular YouTube channel about charging technology and electric vehicles.

In the video, Tom demonstrated how his autonomous snow blower works Yarbo cleared the driveway of his house, of approximately 550 square meters, during a storm.

“This will be a good test to see if this robot can handle a 557 square foot driveway during a major winter storm. I’m sitting inside drinking coffee while it does its job and so far so good!” he said on his X profile.

Tom also mentioned that the machine would charge to about 80% after about 1.25 hours before automatically returning to continue working.

As the storm developed, Tom said he kept the snowblower Yarbo running all the time so that it could clear the snow in several rounds instead of waiting until the storm was over.

He would remotely restart the machine when the snow accumulated and let it return to the charging base, recharge and head back on its own. According to him, this strategy helped keep his long driveway “manageable,” even as snow and ice continued to accumulate.

In his review video, published on his YouTube channel earlier this month, Tom highlighted that he noticed some bugs with the machine during the test. For example, the robot got stuck shortly after it hit a pile of snow from a previous clearing.

Later, it continued to operate with only one side of the screw rotating after a cutter pin broke – a problem he didn’t notice until he got home. This led Tom to give the product an overall rating of “C to C+”.
